40k Battle Report: 1500 Dark Eldar Vs Eldar

Just got a game last week featuring my Dark Eldar versus some not optimise Eldar force. My list:

3 Grotesque; Raider with Dark Lance

5 Kabalite Warriors; Blaster, Venom with dual Splinter Cannon

5 Wracks; Ossefactor, Venom with dual Splinter Cannon

His list was something like this (I didn't take note, so I don't know all the equipment):

CAD:
Autarch on Bike

7 Dire Avengers; Wave Serpent
7 Dire Avengers; Wave Serpent

Crimson Hunter
5 Shining Spears
6 Shadow Spectres

Aspect Host:
6 Swooping Hawks
7 Warp Spiders
5 Dark Reapers

And here a picture of is army:

The table is basic, Ruins, Ruins and Ruins. Walls to block line of sight but some windows here and there... Objectives are scatters around the table and Objectif 0 represent the 1.

Deployment:
As for deployment, my opponent doesn't have a lot on the table. His Wave Serpents in the middle ruin, Swooping Hawks ready to go on ongoing reserve first turn, his Dark Reaper on the ruin too and the Shinning Spears with the Autarch.
For my part, everything goes on to the table, up to down, Venom, Scourge, Raider, Venom, Ravager and Ravager. And I got turn one.

Dark Eldar Turn 1:

Movement: Scalpel Squadron arrived where I want them, ready for the Dark Reapers. Everything else shuffle around for range. And I start to make mistake. First one, I keep the Scourge out of range on the little tower (don't know why) and my Ravager go back to take Objectif 3 (I had it two time). I should have send my Raider for this, or Venom and be aggressive with the Raider.

Shooting: Shooting was not to bad, 3 Venom getting rid of the Dark Reapers (The Scalpel finishing them of giving 2 VP), another Venom kills a Shinning Spear. And all the Dark Lance doing nothing (3 of them are too far back)

Combat: Nothing

Eldar Turn 1:
For the Eldar Turn, I need to put two picture ( exept for the first turn). The first representing the movement phase, the second the end of the turn.

Movement: Swooping Hawks going on ongoing reserve, Avengers stepping out of their transport to shoot. And Shinning Spears prepare a charge.

Shooting: Everything goes against the 2 Venom and the Wracks. He even use one of his shield to blow up a Venom. After the round of shooting, only 2 Venoms and 3 Wracks down.

Combat: He charges with the Shinning Spear killing all the Wracks.

Dark Eldar Turn 2:

Movement: My two fliers come in (Red is Razorwing, Black is Voidraven). I move my Scourges but they are still too short. All other unit shuffle around and a Venom take objectif 6.

Shooting: I focus my fire on 2 units. First, is all Dark Lance on the Wave Serpent that still has his Shield, leaving him alive with one HP. All other weapons goes on the Shinning Spears leaving the "Champion" with 1 wound and the Autarch with 2.

Combat: Nothing.

Eldar Turn 2:

Movement: All of his reserve come on (the Vyper down represent his flier) And they don't really scatter. The Serpent with the shield move on the objectif (it's Sky Fire). Autarch go back to hide, and the last Shinning Spears moves up to charge something. The Swooping Hawks did the big template on the Scourge killing them all.

Shooting: No surprise there, the Serpent blows up my Razorwing, the Spiders blow up my Raider, and the Shadow Spectres blow up one of my Ravager. My Voidraven jink and he is on 1 wound left. That's hurt a lot

Combat: The Shinning Spear try to charge what he fired at, the Venom but die to overwatch.

Dark Eldar Turn 3:

Movement: Voidraven fly out of the table and I try to regroup all my units on the right top corner. I try to run my Succubus with the Grotesque but at this point, I don't know what to do with them. Eldar are too fast.

Shooting: This time I focus fire on the Hawks and Serpent, finishing the wounded one and killing the Hawks.

Combat: Nothing.

Eldar Turn 3:

Movement: Spider jumping the wall, and all his army pressure mine.

Shooting: He doesn't do a lot, killing only 2 Grotesque with the Spiders and the Spectres. The flier do 1HP to the Venom not jinking

Combat: Jumping everything back to safety.

Dark Eldar Turn 4:

Movement: The Voidraven come back to the table, killing 4 Spiders with the Bomb. Everything else goes back to my table edge for Hold the line.

Shooting: His flier jinked, scared of 2 Lance. Nothing else.

Combat: Nothing.

Eldar Turn 4:

Movement: Not much left on the table, he moves up everything. He wants to annihilate me.

Shooting: Spiders and Spectres finish the Succubus and Grotesque while the Avengers do the last HP of the Voidraven.

Combat: Nothing.

Dark Eldar Turn 5:

Movement: At this point, unit wise I am not good but points wise, I am not bad. We are really close and I have 3 Objectives that I can do giving me victory. First is objectif 5, I take it with the Ravager, Second is objectif 2 (we don't know each others objectives), I can do it next turn if he moves is Serpent. Last one is blowing up is Serpent, I can do with 2 Blaster and 3 Lance.

Shooting: I killed a few Spectres, nothing else.

Combat: Nothing.

Eldar Turn 5:

Movement: Moving everything up for the last blow.

Shooting: He kills my 2 Venoms giving him the victory. I can't kill the Serpent and take Number 2 in the same time.

In conclusion, nice game and close on point but Eldar are too fast and the Spiders were a pain in my A**. Jumping behind a wall in the Assault phase, I couldn't get them. I also did a few mistake that could have change the game (Scourge and Ravager on turn 1) Anyway, it was fun and I hope to try again soon. I will change my Succubus with Grotesque for an Archon with Medusas.

Next game will be 3 Chaos Space Marines players (Slaneesh, Khorne and Nurgle (me)), Scenario will be Carnage. One objectif in the center and the winner is the one who has it at the end of the game. I will write a report for this game.
